Abstract

IMPLEMENTASI MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET MODIFIKASI UNTUK MENDUKUNG KESELAMATAN DAN KESEHATAN KERJA DAN LINGKUNGAN DI PT NFI Muhamad Risal Abdilah Universitas Sahid, Jakarta risalabdilah@gmail.com ABSTRAK Sebagai perusahaan yang sadar akan pengendalian bahaya kecelakaan dan penyakit akibat kerja serta bahaya pencemaran lingkungan, PT NFI menerapkan sistem pengendalian bahan kimia berbahaya dengan mengimplementasikan material safety data sheets (MSDS). Seiring berjalannya pengimplementasian MSDS, ada karyawan yang menyampaikan keluhannya terkait MSDS, yaitu “Dokumen MSDS sulit dijangkau karena tidak berada di dekat area kerja” dan “Dokumen MSDS berlembar-lembar dan dalam Bahasa Inggris”. Oleh karena itu penulis melakukan penelitian implementasi MSDS modifikasi sebagai sistem pengendalian bahan kimia berbahaya di PT NFI untuk mengetahui kefektifan MSDS modifikasi terhadap sistem pengendalian bahan kimia berbahaya PT NFI. Peneliti terlebih dahulu melakukan wawancara terhadap 10 orang karyawan, kemudian peneliti melakukan penyebaran kuesioner ke 68 karyawan setelah proses modifikasi MSDS pada area kerja produksi dan laboratorium selesai diterapkan dan disosialisasikan. Berdasarkan analisa data yang dilakukan, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif signifikan yang cukup tinggi antara kesederhanaan informasi aspek penting MSDS pada MSDS modifikasi dengan kemudahan membaca informasi aspek penting MSDS. Kata kunci : dokumen msds, msds modifikasi, bahan kimia berbahaya ABSTRACT As a company that aware of the control of the dangers of accidents and occupational diseases and the dangers of environmental pollution, PT NFI applies a system to control hazardous chemicals with implementing material safety data sheets (MSDS). However, as the MSDS is implemented, there are employees who submit complaints regarding the MSDS, that "MSDS documents are difficult to reach because they are far from the working area" and "MSDS documents contain many pages and written in English". Therefore the authors conducted a study on the implementation of modified MSDS as a system for controlling hazardous chemicals at PT NFI to determine the effectiveness of modified MSDS on the PT NFI hazardous chemicals control system. The author first interviewed 10 employees, then conducted questionnaires to 68 employees after the MSDS modification process in the production and laboratory work areas was completed and socialized. Based on the data analysis conducted, it can be concluded that there is a significant positive influence that is significant between the simplicity of information on the important aspects of the MSDS on the modified MSDS with the ease of reading important aspects of MSDS information.
